Summary
At over 80 feet long, this may be the most track that will fit on a 4′ x 8′ table. From this point on, any track added will overlap other track and drive down the overall track rating. This track has 10 (TEN!) straight-aways that are over 5 feet long each. That is the maximum number of straight-aways that will fit in a 4′ width. Half of the corners are pure 180’s. On the right hand side of the layout, the corners are built using “dip” tracks. This allows the track to clear other portions of the layout without using multiple level overlaps.
Note – The following diagram has been “exploded” so you can how all the turns are built. From a practical perspective, this is a difficult track to build, since it requires 38 short straights, which are hard to obtain cheaply.
